    Susan's story*

    I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer August of 2010. I received my chemotherapy and radiation at Dana-Farber in Milford. My oncologist was Dr. Naeem Tahir. He was wonderful, and took great care of me. I had a great oncology nurse too, Marybeth Proulx. She was so caring and went above and beyond for me. The staff at Dana-Farber/Milford are so welcoming. In September 2013, we found the cancer had spread to my bones and liver. Surprisingly, we also found that I have thyroid cancer...no relation to the breast cancer. I am stage 4 now. Dr. Tahir recommended I go to Dana-Farber in Boston to be part of a clinical trial. I met with Dr. Erica Mayer. She is awesome, and is treating me now for my cancer. I appreciate her expertise with the BRCA genes, and breast cancer in general. My oncology nurse is Maryanne Bardsley. Like my previous nurse, Maryanne goes above and beyond for me. She is very comforting. The valet are kind and the staff I have dealt with from the person who draws my blood, to the person who performs my scans, to the person who schedules my visits are outstanding! Cancer is no walk in the park, but being part of Dana-Farber, and dealing with all these wonderful people makes it less scary. I know I am exactly where I should be for my care.
