How Dana-Farber Uses Email to Connect with Patients
We ask patients to provide their email addresses when registering at Dana-Farber because we would like to send important information electronically. Email messages from Dana-Farber include items such as:
- Dana-Farber e-bulletins, delivering short, timely news and information
- Registration information, to answer questions, provide estimates, and offer updates on insurance coverage
- Emergency updates about unplanned events, such as weather-related closings or delays
- Account balance and payment reminders to keep you informed (although patients may also get such notices via phone or mail)
- Occasional surveys about your experience as a patient
For critical notices, such as billing or insurance concerns, we may also use other methods, such as phone calls or letters, to get in touch.
For our patients: We guard your privacy very carefully, and we will not sell, rent, or otherwise share your email address with others. While no electronic information can be completely protected and secure from outside interference, Dana-Farber takes every reasonable precaution to protect your information.
To learn more, check our website's privacy policy.
You may opt out of each type of email from Dana-Farber by following the instructions in the email messages you receive.
Occasionally, you may receive an email from a provider, clinic, or other department. You cannot opt out of these one-time messages as they are not a scheduled communication.
