• How to Apply for Dana-Farber Jobs Online

    Applying online is the most efficient way to for our staffing team to review your resume. If your skills meet the criteria for the position to which you have applied, one of our recruiters will contact you.

    We highly recommend that applicants use Internet Explorer 8 or higher. Upon completing your application, you must first press the Save button, then press the Submit button to complete the application process.

    Due to the various technologies that may be used, for your convenience there is a computer kiosk available for this purpose in the Department of Human Resources, located at 440 Brookline Avenue, Boston, if you have difficulties completing the application. Please refer to maps and directions.

    Our food service, housekeeping, and security personnel are employed through outside vendors. If you are interested in working in one of these areas, please contact the appropriate corporation.

    Should I use the links instead of the browser buttons to navigate?

    Yes, use the links on the page to navigate and avoid using your browser's "Back" button.

    What should I do if I'm not ready to submit my application?

    Click the "Save" button to save your application to complete at a later time.

    What are saved jobs?

    Saved jobs allow you to select and save job openings you're interested in and apply for them at a later date. There's no limit to the number of jobs you can save, but the system does not automatically remove closed, cancelled, or on-hold jobs from your list.

    What is a saved search?

    You can save your search criteria as a saved search or as a job agent. A saved search allows you to view the list of jobs that match your criteria at any time. When you save search criteria as a job agent, the system checks for job openings that meet the saved search criteria nightly and emails you with new jobs that match your search criteria.


    Do I have to register on your site to view available positions and submit an application?

    When you apply to a position through our website, you will be required to register by creating a username and password and online profile. Click the "Click here to register" link to get started. This will enable you to maintain and update your online profile and resume, search for jobs, and check the status of your applications.

    Do I have to enter all my profile information?

    In order for us to best serve you as an applicant to Dana-Farber, you are required to provide your name, address, email, and phone number.

    What do I do if my username and password don't work?

    Your username and password are case sensitive. If you forget your username or password, click the "Log-in help" button for more information.

    Resume upload/attachment

    When I'm trying to attach my resume, should I upload it or cut and paste sections of it into the form?

    We recommend you upload your resume instead of using the cut-and-paste options. Uploading your resume will automatically populate your job application. Make sure your resume is Microsoft Word (.doc) or PDF format (.pdf).

    How do I update a resume I previously used on an application?

    You won't be able to update your resume on the website. If you want to change a resume you've already submitted, please contact HR directly.

    Cover letter attachments

    Should I include a cover letter?

    You are not required to submit a cover letter but you may do so if you choose.

    How do I add a cover letter to my profile?

    You can include a cover letter as the first page of your uploaded resume, or go to "My Career Tools" on the homepage of the job search section and upload the cover letter using the "Cover Letters and Attachments" link.

    What do I need to do to make sure the cover letter gets submitted with the correct application?

    It's a good idea to include the job ID number in the cover letter filename.

    Search for jobs

    How do I search for available jobs?

    To search, enter the keywords for the type of job you're looking for into the job application text box and click "Search." You can also click "Advanced Search" to choose more search options.

    Can I be notified when new positions become available?

    You can save your search criteria as a job agent. In this case, the system will check for job openings that meet your saved search criteria nightly and email you new jobs that match your search criteria.

    You will only be notified about each job once. Job agent emails are sent out for 60 days. After that time, you will need to re-save job agents to be notified of future positions.

    Inquiries and help

    How do I check on my application’s status?

    If you have created an account, you can examine the status of open positions. Once you've logged in, click on "My Career Tools" to view the status of all open positions you've applied for, review resumes previously submitted, and upload supporting documents (references, cover letters, etc).

    What do I do if I have problems viewing Dana-Farber job postings or using the online application?

    How can I make sure my profile information is secure on your website?
