Naoto Hirano, MD, PhD

Dr. Hirano received both M.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo and trained in internal medicine. After completing a fellowship in hematology and oncology, he worked as an attending physician at the University of Tokyo Hospital and International Medical Center of Japan in Tokyo. Dr. Hirano received his postdoctoral training in the laboratory of Dr. Lee Nadler at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He was promoted to Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Harvard Medical School in 2008. His research has been focusing on the development of novel cancer immunotherapy and the elucidation of the pathogenesis of aplastic anemia.
