Living Proof: Celebrating Survivorship
June 2013
Living Proof is an annual series of events at Dana-Farber honoring the challenge and journey of cancer survivorship. Held each June and sponsored by the Perini Family Survivors' Center at Dana-Farber, it features free workshops and programs for cancer survivors and their loved ones. It concludes on the evening of Thursday, June 20, with a celebration event that includes a catered reception and guest speakers sharing their stories of survivorship.
- Free workshops: This year's series will include a diverse range of free workshops, covering topics such as advocacy, spiritual care, massage, and more.
- Celebration event: Dana-Farber will host a celebration event on Thursday, June 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the Institute's Jimmy Fund Auditorium. The program will start with a series of guest speakers sharing their stories of survivorship and conclude with a catered reception in Dana-Farber's Yawkey Center for Cancer Care. This year’s keynote speaker is Samantha Watson, a two-time young adult cancer survivor who is the executive director and co-founder of the SAMFund, which helps young adult cancer survivors recover from the financial impact of cancer treatment.
