Disability Services

Dana-Farber, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Boston Children's Hospital are accessible to people with disabilities, and comply with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

All buildings are wheelchair accessible, and parking assistance is available if special services are needed. There are wheelchairs at the main entrance of all buildings, and security staff can provide personal assistance.

Cancer educational materials are available in large print and audiotape formats.

Transportation Options

Dana-Farber patients may be eligible to use THE RIDE, an MBTA service that provides transportation for people with physical or intellectual disabilities that prevent them from using public transportation.

THE RIDE is operated in compliance with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act and is a shared-ride service, which means you will be traveling with other people. Lift-equipped vans are used to serve persons with disabilities, including those who use wheelchairs and scooters.

Patients with certain types of Mass Health Insurance may be eligible for chair car service through a transportation benefit called a “PT-1.” For more information, contact the Adult Resource Office at 617-632-3301 or the Pediatric Resource Office at DFCIPEDIResourceSpecialists@partners.org.
