This recipe is a wonderful alternative to traditional Waldorf Salad, which usually is made with mayonnaise. The sweet, tart flavors of the apples and raisins make for a perfect combination with walnut oil, which has a rich, nutty flavor and is ideal for salad dressings.

Great flavor isn’t all you’ll be getting with this recipe. Walnut oil is high in omega-3 fats. Omega-3 fatty acids have anti-inflammatory properties and may contribute to cancer prevention, survivorship, and health maintenance during cancer treatment.

Walnut oil also contains an antioxidant compound called ellagic acid that supports the immune system and may aid in controlling the replication of malignant tumors.
