Dana Gerson Unger
Dana Gerson Unger was born in Boston, but moved several times,
spending parts of her childhood in Colorado, California and
Florida. She graduated from Syracuse University, and after a career
as a senior buyer for Filene's Basement, is now a stay-at-home
mother with her husband and two children.
In addition to her work with the Friends of Dana Farber, Dana's
volunteer activities are extensive. She is a development committee
member of the Brain Tumor Society and co-chaired its 2004 through
2007 galas. From 2005 to 2006 she served as a committee member for
Reach Out and Read, was co-chair of Jewish Family Services' 2007
auction and was a committee member of the Rose Fund from 2006 to
2007.
Dana's direct involvement with the Friends of Dana Farber
stemmed from her friendship with Suzanne Bloomberg. In addition to
her active involvement on the Friends' Board, Dana has co-chaired
the highly successful Saks Key to the Cure Event for the past three
years.
Dana said, "I think that the Friends of Dana-Farber is a
wonderful group of people who truly care about the patients in Dana
Farber and are committed to help raising funds to support research
that will eventually result in a cure for cancer."
