Diane Flynn
Diane Flynn
Diane Flynn was born in New York and grew up in Connecticut and
New Jersey. She came to Massachusetts to attend Boston College
where she majored in Psychology. After graduation, she worked as an
advertising salesperson for TeleRep, a national television rep
firm, and later locally for WFXT-TV. Diane married Ned Flynn in
1988 and moved to Weston, Mass., where they have resided ever
since.
They have three children and a cat. Catherine is a junior in
high school; Andrew is a freshman in high school; and Elizabeth is
in seventh grade.
Diane keeps busy volunteering in the schools and in her spare
time loves to practice yoga. Ned is an entrepreneur. He is
currently the owner of New England Flag & Banner, the oldest
and largest maker of custom hand-sewn applique flags and banners.
Although most well known for their championship banners for the
Celtics and Bruins, they also make championship banners for other
professional teams as well as colleges and universities across the
country.
Diane has been a member of the Board for eight years. She joined
the Board because "it is such important work within an environment
of very dedicated, interesting and caring people. The Friends is an
impressive group with which I feel proud to be associated." Diane
has held many positions over the years, including chairing the
Great Chefs, Gala, Nominating and Holiday Hospitality Committees,
working on the Tribute Book and is currently the executive
vice-president. Diane and her two daughters also very much enjoy
participating in the annual Friends' Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk team.
