    Friends Golf Classic

    On Friday, June 17, 2011, the Friends of Dana-Farber Classic Golf Tournament was held at Spring Valley Country Club, in Sharon, Massachusetts.

    All funds raised from this event benefit cutting-edge research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, including the Lowe Center for Thoracic Oncology at Dana-Farber. The Center was founded and endowed by Phillip and Carol Lowe and has been the focus for biological discoveries that have dramatically improved the treatment of patients with lung cancer. Patient volume at the Lowe Center has increased 67 percent from 2001 to 2009. Lung cancer remains the most deadly form of all the major cancers, yet it is the most underfunded.
