U.S. News rates Dana-Farber/Children's Hospital Cancer Center as top pediatric cancer hospital
U.S. News & World Report has ranked Children's Hospital Boston and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as the top pediatric cancer hospital in the United States in its 2011-12 Best Children's Hospitals guide.
The rankings are available on its website at www.usnews.com/childrenshospitals, and will be published by U.S. News in August.
Last year, Children's was ranked third in pediatric cancer.
"This recognition speaks directly to the commitment of our team to provide our patients with the most advanced, effective, and compassionate care possible," said Lisa Diller, MD, chief medical officer of Dana-Farber/Children's Hospital Cancer Center.
This is the first time that Children's and Dana-Farber have been ranked as one program.
This combined ranking reflects the clinical and scientific strength and depth of the Dana-Farber/Children's Hospital Cancer Center, a partnership of more than 60 years that provides comprehensive care to children with cancer and survivors of pediatric cancers.
