Paths of Progress, Dana-Farber's award-winning cancer research magazine, is now available as a free app for Android and Kindle Fire tablets. An iPad app was created earlier this year.

This digital edition brings the latest advances in cancer research and treatment alive with interactive elements such as embedded videos, animated illustrations, slideshows, linked information, social media connectivity and in-depth interviews from some of the world’s most renowned scientists and clinicians.

The current issue features stories on:

  • Pregnancy and Breast Cancer: How physicians help expectant mothers navigate through their cancer treatment
  • Crowd Sourcing: An unusual approach to speeding the development of new therapies
  • Bringing better cancer care to Rwanda
  • Mining data to learn how well specific treatments work
  • Three approaches to solving thorny research challenges
  • Sam Donaldson: A Q&A with the long-term cancer survivor

"New digital publishing technologies now allow us to provide important information about the state of cancer care and scientific discovery to more people in a compelling and cost-effective manner," said Steven Singer, senior vice-president of communications.

To download the free app, visit Paths of Progress on iTunes or in the Google Play store.
