A Randomized Placebo-Controlled Trial of Armodafinil (Nuvigil) for Fatigue in Patients With Malignant Gliomas
The purpose of this research study is to determine if armodafinil is safe and effective in treating fatigue in patients with malignant gliomas undergoing treatment with radiotherapy plus temodar. Armodafinil is a wakefulness-promoting agent that has been FDA approved for the treatment of excessive daytime sleepiness for a variety of disorders. Armodafinil may also help to reduce radiation-induced fatigue in brain tumor patients.

Hypoxia-positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Intensity Modulated Proton Therapy (IMPT) Dose Painting in Patients With Chordomas
Before radiation treatment is given to treat chordomas, CT and MRI scans are used to create a three dimensional picture of the tumor using x-rays. The CT and MRI scans are used to determine the size and location of the area that will receive radiation treatment. The purpose of this research study is to see if combining the images from the FMISO-PET scan and the CT and MRI scans in radiation treatment planning changes the size and location of the area that will receive radiation treatment when compared to planning the radiation treatment with CT and MRI scans alone.

In-Room PET in Proton Radiation Therapy
The investigational part of this study is using a mobile PET scanner called NeuroPET to take images of the participants tumor while they are receiving proton radiation treatment. This allows the participant to be treated and imaged in the same bed. The information obtained may improve the accuracy of treatment and may help to minimize the dose delivered unnecessarily to healthy tissue.
