Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center patients with breast, gastrointestinal, or thoracic cancer now have the option to receive care in the new Dana-Farber clinic at Faulkner Hospital if they find it more convenient. Two Dana-Farber medical oncologists – Jennifer Ligibel, MD, and Dan Morganstern, MD – already provide care at Faulkner for breast cancer patients, while Geoffrey Sherwood, MD, chief of Oncology at Faulkner, will continue his general oncology and hematology practice and retain his leadership role as medical director of the new unit.
The expansion offers many pluses for patients, such as additional clinical trials, and expanded psychosocial, nutrition, and pharmacy services.
For DF/BWCC, patients will be able to see experts in their type of cancer, and have access to clinical trials in a community setting where they can park easily and navigate a smaller building.
