A letter from Senior Vice President for Development Susan Paresky
Forging the future through collaboration
Dear Friends:
The secret to Dana-Farber's numerous successes over the years has been its collaborative approach. By building collaboration into our work, we have been able to forge new links across the cancer community, sparking the birth of novel ideas and approaches to long-standing challenges and opportunities.
As we embark upon Mission Possible: The Dana-Farber Campaign to Conquer Cancer, input from a diverse field of experts will be the key to making our mission possible. By pairing chemists with molecular biologists, protein engineers with mathematicians, and computational analysts with oncologists, the Institute has created a bold roadmap to conquer cancer.
Reaching this goal will also require collaboration between and support from the public and private sectors. This, too, has been one of Dana-Farber's greatest strengths. In fact, the Dana-Farber name reflects a steadfast partnership between Institute Founder Sidney Farber, MD, and philanthropist Charles A. Dana Sr., who unwavering support over the years was acknowledged in 1983 by incorporating the Dana name into the Institute's official title. It is this same spirit of generosity and teamwork that has propelled this campaign in its early stages.
Early support from our loyal benefactors – and 96 percent of our senior faculty leaders – is a huge vote of confidence in Dana-Farber's legacy and its future. I look forward to the milestones we will achieve together.
Sincerely,
Susan S. Paresky
Senior Vice President for Development
