Satellite center opens in New Hampshire

The Dana-Farber/New Hampshire Oncology-Hematology center opened in December 2008.

The Dana-Farber/New Hampshire Oncology-Hematology center opened in December 2008.

Late last year, Dana-Farber opened its third satellite center, in the southern New Hampshire town of Londonderry. Known as Dana-Farber/New Hampshire Oncology-Hematology, the nearly 25,000- foot facility will enable patients in the area to receive world-class cancer care closer to home.

The center represents an expansion of a 25-year partnership between Dana-Farber and New Hampshire Oncology-Hematology, a physicians' group that provides adult cancer care at five community hospitals in the Granite State, and that has worked with Dana-Farber physicians on consultations and research trials. Patients at the new center have access to an array of treatment and support services, including genetic screening and counseling, nutrition counseling, integrative therapies, a resource room for patients and families, pain and palliative care services, and pastoral care.

The Londonderry facility joins Dana-Farber's established satellite centers at Faulkner Hospital in Boston and Milford Regional Medical Center. A fourth satellite center is scheduled to open this fall at South Shore Hospital, in Weymouth, Mass.
