Satellite Clinics

For several years, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has had a vision of care that extends beyond the Longwood Medical Area. With patients saying that it was sometimes difficult to make their way into Boston for treatment, and with Dana-Farber's patient volume growing, we saw a need to expand our sites of care by opening satellite clinics.

These satellites offer patients the opportunity to receive world-class Dana-Farber care and resources while in the comfort of their local community hospitals. The first satellite clinic opened at Faulkner Hospital in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston in June 2006. Patients receive the same superb care in our satellites as they would at our main location in the Longwood Medical Area. Dana-Farber doctors see patients in these clinics, and patients have access to the same resources, support, and opportunities for clinical research as they find in our Longwood location.

There are currently plans for several more satellites to open throughout the area, such as Milford Regional Medical Center in Milford, Mass., and the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, Mass., in 2008.
