Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center at Faulkner Hospital

Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center at Faulkner Hospital building

Dana-Farber's first satellite center opened at Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain in June 2006. This unit allows Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center (DF/BWCC) and Faulkner Hospital to combine their strengths in an expanded, collaborative, ambulatory oncology service.

The center is licensed and accredited under Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and functions under the wider umbrella of Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center. Current Faulkner cancer patients receive their care in the space, while DF/BWCC patients have the option to go there for treatment of certain cancers.

The 13,000-square foot center offers expanded space for infusion, exams, reception, and support services such as social work and nutrition.

Patients and families from both facilities were included in the space-planning process to make sure the new clinic is patient-friendly and supportive.

Faulkner is a 150-bed, general community hospital just 3.4 miles from the Longwood Medical Area and across the street from the Arnold Arboretum. It offers care to residents of southwest Boston and surrounding suburbs, and is a setting for training interns and residents. In 1998, it joined with Brigham and Women's Hospital to form a common parent organization, Brigham and Women's/Faulkner Hospitals, a member of Partners HealthCare.
