Patients share their Dana-Farber experience

Written about Annie Beauchemin, RN, BSN, OCN
Staff nurse, Jimmy Fund Clinic
Date received: November 2006

We have known Annie since 1991 when my youngest daughter was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

She has been so calming to us on the days we come into the clinic. Our years have proven three bouts with leukemia touching the lives of both of my daughters. Annie has been a source of strength when we make decisions, which some may view as private. She listens to my concerned thoughts and responds with a compassionate, but motherly view. I respect her decisions. I have learned a lot from her, including her loving smile and touch.

Our family manages to put a twist on the simplest tasks and Annie always fixes things. Every nurse looks to her for guidance or suggestions. She is the guiding star in our 17th year at Dana-Farber.
