Patients share their Dana-Farber experience

Dear Dr. Nathan,
Thanks to you, we had a rare and rewarding visit to Dana-Farber last week. From the moment we arrived, we sensed we were in an institution where the concerns of the patients receive as high a priority as the staff's impressive scientific achievements.
We are especially grateful to you for helping to arrange the consultation with Dr. Oh. As I have written Paul Samuelson, Dr. Oh is most impressive. He is brilliant, articulate, and philosophically as well as scientifically fascinated by his subject and the human beings he treats. I learned far more about my particular condition, from its essential nature to the outlook for cure, than I have ever learned anywhere else — or about any of the other illnesses I have encountered across the years. This was a rare and invaluable experience.
You were most kind to be so responsive. I hope we have an opportunity to meet in person one day soon.
