'A Beacon of Hope'
In April 2009, Dana-Farber patients, families, and staff were invited to sign 8-foot, 350-pound structural beams that were later included in the construction of the Yawkey Center for Cancer Care.
During the two weeks the beams were on display, they transformed from stark white steel objects into a mosaic of signatures and messages expressing memories, hope, and thanks.
This video features still images of those who signed the beams, along with audio interviews with Dana-Farber patients.
