Biography
Vinayak Venkataraman, MD
Vinayak is a board-certified medical oncologist focused on the treatment of bone and soft tissue sarcomas. He is also a board-certified internist and pediatrician with expertise in supporting the unique physical, emotional, and socioeconomic needs of adolescent and young adults (AYAs, age 15-39 years old) facing cancer.
He was born and raised in Rochester, NY, obtained a BSE in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University, received an MD from Duke University School of Medicine, completed combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital, and completed Medical Oncology fellowship at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Brigham & Women's Hospital.
Vinayak is an Affiliated Faculty in the McGraw/Patterson Center for Population Sciences. His research interests include leveraging technology to optimize patient engagement in cancer genomics research and enhancing cancer care delivery to reduce financial burden and promote socioeconomic well-being. He holds leadership positions in national and regional organizations focused on optimizing care and advocating for AYAs facing cancer. He is also a published author and essayist with passion for creative and reflective writing in medicine.
