DFMC Stories
The Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge (DFMC) team is a diverse group, and every member of it has a different story. The one thing they all share is that they each have been touched in some way by cancer, spurring them to make a tremendous personal commitment to fighting cancer through the fundraising and training components of DFMC. Valerie Bertinelli to run 2010 Boston Marathon® to support research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
Actress Valerie Bertinelli will run the 114th Boston Marathon® April 19, 2010, to support cancer research at Dana-Farber. Bertinelli and her trainer Christopher Ross Lane will join more than 500 Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge teammates as part of the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge. Read more

For two Dana-Farber staff members, marathon was a runner's high
Dana-Farber colleagues Sasha Barajas and Brianna Harris usually work together on things like clinical research protocols. On April 20, 2009, Harris and Barajas ran the entire 113th Boston Marathon® side-by-side as members of the DFMC team, crossing the finish line together. Read more
