Charles Fuchs, MD, MPH, discusses findings of a study into the effects of aspirin on the survival rates of colorectal cancer patients, and outlines the goals of a follow-up randomized trial to evaluate adding the COX-2 inhibitor celecoxib — which is less likely to have the gastrointestinal side effects of aspirin — to standard chemotherapy.
