Tubal Cancer
Cancer of the fallopian tube is a rare malignancy in women. Its symptoms are much the same as ovarian cancer. As well, its appearance under the microscope cannot be distinguished from ovarian or peritoneal cancer. Cancers of the fallopian tube spread throughout the abdominal cavity in the same fashion as ovarian or peritoneal cancer. Treatment of tubal cancers consists of surgery in order to make the diagnosis, determine the extent, or "stage," of the disease, and remove the cancerous tissues. Then, depending on the amount of spread of the cancer, chemotherapy treatments are often given after surgery.
