Vitamin D and Calcium Levels in Women with Breast Cancer

The purpose of this study is to determine if vitamin D levels are low in women with breast cancer receiving bisphosphonate therapy. Low vitamin D levels in people taking IV bisphosphonates can cause low levels of calcium. If vitamin D levels are frequently low, treatment guidelines including vitamin D replacement may be helpful. The purpose of this research study is to ultimately assist breast cancer patients treated via intravenous bisphosphonate to achieve and maintain bone health.

Who is Eligible?

Women, who have a confirmed breast cancer diagnosis and are currently treated with intravenous bisphosphonates therapy (Zoledronate or Pamidronate), will be considered for enrollment.
