Kidney Tumors

Clinical Research

Members of the Dana-Farber/Children's Hospital Cancer Care (DF/CHCC) Kidney Tumor Program oversee laboratory and clinical research designed to improve understanding and treatment of childhood kidney tumors. Because DF/CHCC is the regional Phase I center for the Children's Oncology Group, a collaborative research organization dedicated to improving the treatment of childhood cancers, our center offers treatments unavailable at other regional institutions. We also collaborate with other pediatric centers across the country to offer unique treatment options.

Currently, we are enrolling patients in the WILTOP protocol, a Phase II Study of Topotecan in children with recurrent Wilms' Tumor. Topotecan is a drug that has shown promising results in treating other forms of pediatric cancer. This study is investigating if it will also effectively treat recurrent Wilms' Tumor.

To learn more about the WILTOP study and its current eligibility criteria please contact Dr. Elizabeth Mullen through our new patient line by calling (888) PEDI-ONC (888-733-4662).

A full listing of all of our pediatric cancer clinical trials is also available online.
