The School Liaison Program

Eligibility

Children must meet the following criteria to be eligible for School Liaison Services:

  • Must be a registered patient at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
  • Are of school age between kindergarten and high school graduation.
  • Diagnosed with leukemia, a brain tumor, or has had a bone marrow/stem cell transplant, or has undergone surgery, radiation, and/or chemotherapy involving the central nervous system.
  • If treatment was provided, the child is no longer receiving active treatment.
  • Must live within 60 miles from the hospital for SLP staff to attend school meetings in person. If child lives beyond 60 miles, consultation will be by telephone only.
