Social Work

Social workers at Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center provide emotional support and counseling to patients, couples, and family members. They are available to help patients and families cope with concerns and anxieties that may arise during illness and treatment.

Resource Specialists within the Department of Care Coordination can also help patients identify community-based resources to meet various needs, including transportation and housing, as well as support groups. Specialists will also assist patients with financial applications for MassHealth, Social Security Disability, and other special needs.
