Office for the Protection of Research Subjects (OPRS)
The Office for the Protection of Research Subjects (OPRS) supports the Institutional Review Board for the Dana-Farber Harvard Cancer Center and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The OPRS provides regulatory guidance to the review committees, the investigators and the research teams. The OPRS also provides logistical support for the Institutional Review Board (IRBs), the Animal Care and Use Committee (ACUC) and guidance and resources for investigators and their study staff. OPRS is also responsible for training new research staff and for assuring that human subjects certification is obtained. OPRS is responsible for the training and education of IRB members. The office has created and maintains a library and online resources for guidance and education for researchers, their staffs, IRB members and others.
