Gloria Spivak Faculty Support Fund
The Gloria Spivak Faculty Support Fund offers a multi-year grant program to provide support to faculty (male and female) who are the primary caregivers in their families and who are at critical junctures in their lives in balancing work and family demands. The grants available through the Fund will provide an appropriate level of support to sustain research productivity and enable talented faculty to remain on track professionally during child-rearing years or a family crisis and for whom without such support this will not be possible.
Intent
Awards will be granted based on the potential of the applicant to develop as an independent and productive researcher and the scientific merit of the application. Examples of appropriate use of funds include hiring of technicians, research assistants or post-doctoral fellows, or administrative support.
Awards
Up to seven $25,000 - $75,000 awards in Year 1; one, two or three year terms may be applied for. For grants of one or two years in length, it is permissible to request an extension if additional needs arise.
Eligibility

- Holds academic appointments at Harvard Medical School or Harvard School of Public Health at the level of assistant professor or above, or otherwise defined as an independent investigator as documented by a letter from the department head/division chief;
