Charlie's Story–Thriving after Leukemia and Relapse

When Charlie Rider began receiving care for acute lymphoblastic leukemia at Dana-Farber/Children's Hospital Cancer Center at age 4, his mother, Caroline, sent email updates to her large family and circle of friends. After a brief remission, Charlie's cancer came back, and he returned for more treatment, including a stem cell transplant. Caroline's reflections grew into a touching chronicle of four years in the life of a child with cancer. Today, Charlie is a healthy 8-year-old reunited with his parents and older brothers, Harry and Max.
