Dana-Farber launches cancer blog

Posted date

Dana-Farber today launched Insight, a blog providing expert commentary on the latest news in cancer research and care, and insight on issues relevant to cancer patients and their families. Dana-Farber is the first New England hospital to publish a blog that focuses exclusively on cancer-related topics.

Insight will cover the latest scientific advances and treatment options, practical tips for patients and families coping with cancer, and compelling patient stories. It will also feature on-the-scene commentary from some of the nation’s largest medical conferences.

"Every day, Dana-Farber is filled with inspiring stories of discovery, struggle, and progress," says Steven Singer, senior vice president of Communications. "It is a community completely focused on beating cancer, and with Insight, we hope to make a wider range of voices and expertise available to the broader world."

In addition to featuring video commentary from Dana-Farber’s Harold J. Burstein, MD, PhD, on highlights from the CTRC-AACR San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, the first posts on the blog also will include a report from the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology, and offer practical tips for patients coping with cancer during the holidays.
