Dana-Farber expresses gratitude for B.A.A.'s Guy Morse

Statement from Edward J. Benz, Jr., MD
President
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

More than 20 years ago, Guy Morse made the Boston Athletic Association's Boston Marathon®, one of the world's premier athletic events, even more exceptional by opening it to charitable organizations. Because of Guy's foresight, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has raised tens of millions of dollars to support its cancer care and research programs and, no doubt, to save countless lives. From the first Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge Team in 1990, to the hundreds of thousands participating in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk, to those running in the Dana-Farber-sponsored B.A.A. Half Marathon, none of this could have happened without Guy's vision and passion. We are indebted to Guy and the B.A.A., and we wish him continued success in the next phase of his career.
