Following an extensive, nationwide search, Goldie Taylor has been named Senior Vice President, Chief Communication and Marketing Officer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In this role she will lead the work to frame the Institute’s accomplishments and contributions to medicine, clinical care, and research; ensuring consistent, integrated messages across traditional and emerging communications; and advancing internal engagement across the Dana-Farber community. Taylor starts at Dana-Farber on February 28, 2022.

“Goldie is a proven leader with extensive, cross-disciplinary experience. A talented communicator with an impressive background of working with some of the world’s best known and highly respected brands, she will be a wonderful resource to Dana-Farber in furthering our communications and marketing objectives and advancing our mission,” said Laurie H. Glimcher, MD, President and CEO, Dana-Farber.

In addition to a strong track record in healthcare, Taylor’s 30-year career has included consumer packaged goods, technology, and transportation. Well-known for her on-air and executive leadership roles at CNN and NBC News, she is also a transformational leader with extensive experience in building high performing teams and creating measurable, integrated and value-driven campaigns.

“Leading in scientific discovery, delivering exceptional patient care, and raising the bar on transformative medicine, Dana-Farber has changed the way the world treats cancer,” said Taylor. “I am honored to join the fight to re-imagine the world we live in: A world without cancer.”

Taylor joins Dana-Farber from Morehouse School of Medicine, an academic health sciences institution in Atlanta, where she is the Chief Marketing Officer.  In that role she transformed the marketing and communications competencies, raised the profile of subject-matter experts, and assisted in constructing virtual campus and business continuity plans during the global pandemic. Previously, she held senior and executive positions in the private and public sectors, including at Edelman Public Relations, Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, NBC Universal and Burrell Communications. Among others, she has led strategic communications and marketing campaigns for Grady Health Systems, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Toyota North America, Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, and the Procter & Gamble family of brands.

Taylor succeeds Steven Singer, who is retiring after 25 years with Dana-Farber.
