Irene M. Yeh, MD, MPH, FAAHPM
Irene M. Yeh, MD, MPH, FAAHPM, is a Senior Physician in the Department of Supportive Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Yeh is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for patients with serious illnesses through effective symptom management and communication. She believes that empowering and equipping patients and families for meaningful conversations is essential for informed healthcare decisions.
Dr. Yeh's research and clinical interests focus on the role of culture in patient-clinician interactions and decision-making processes. She strives to foster a healthcare environment that respects and integrates cultural differences into patient care strategies, promoting inclusivity and understanding.
In her role as Director of Medical Student Education for Adult Palliative Care at Dana-Farber, Dr. Yeh ensures that medical students receive essential training in serious illness communication skills. She serves as a site director for the Clinical Immersion Experience in Palliative Care and co-leads the Psychosocial Oncology and Palliative Care advanced elective for third and fourth-year medical students. Through her educational initiatives, Dr. Yeh aims to equip the next generation of physicians with the skills needed to provide empathetic and culturally responsive care to all patients.
