Biography
Jenica Upshaw, MD
Director of Cardio Oncology, Clinical and Research Programs at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and a member of the faculty of Harvard Medical School. Dr. Upshaw studies the intersection of cardiovascular disease and cancer with the goal of optimizing both cardiovascular and cancer outcomes in this growing population of patients. She utilizes observational and clinical trial designs to study the cardiovascular effects of cancer and cancer therapies, test novel treatment strategies, and understand the comparative effectiveness of interventions in populations not well represented in clinical trials. She is co-chair of the National Cancer Institute funded ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group Cardiotoxicity Subcommittee. Her clinical expertise is in cardio-oncology and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology.
