Biography
Stephanie Alimena, MD
Dr. Stephanie Alimena is a gynecologic oncologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute, as well as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School. Clinically, she is passionate about treating all types of gynecologic malignancies, including ovarian, endometrial, cervical, vaginal, and vulvar cancers. She also is the Director of the Center for Pre-invasive Disease of the Lower Genital Tract at Brigham and Women's Hospital, specializing in treating precancerous lesions of the cervix, vagina, and vulva at this high-risk colposcopy center. Her research focuses on identifying and addressing disparities in care and outcomes among patients with or at risk for gynecologic cancers. She is also committed to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows about the treatment and prevention of gynecologic cancers, and is the course director for the Advanced Elective in Gynecologic Oncology for fourth year medical students. She sees patients at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital main campus, the Dana Farber Cancer Institute main campus, and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute Chestnut Hill location.
