Getting Started

First, you’ll need to register your card online.

Register for Web Account Access

Once you have registered, you may add value to your account online using a credit card anytime.

Managing Your Account

Visit the Care Card website for activation, balances, transaction history, notifications, and to add value by debit/credit card (American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover).

What is the Care Card?

The Care Card is a reloadable spending card for patients, family members, friends, staff, and other visitors to make cashless purchases for food and services at Dana-Farber accepting locations.

How does the Care Card account work?

Your Care Card offers is a prepaid spending account offering a safe and convenient way to make purchases at Dana-Farber’s accepting locations. You must add value to your account before using the Care Card, and you must have sufficient value available in your account to pay for each transaction. Each time you use your Care Card, the amount of the transaction will be deducted from your account. You may not spend more value than you have.

How do I get my Care Card?

I want to do something nice for a friend. How can I send a Care Card to someone else?

Purchase a card online and submit the name of the person and address where you would like it to be sent.

How do I add value to someone else’s Care Card?

You can load funds on someone else’s card by accessing the Care Card account site. You will input the person’s last name and account number, and then add funds using a credit card, or call 617-632-3199. If you would like to add value to a card over the phone, please call 617-632-3199. You can also ask the card owner to add you as a guest user, which would allow you to add value, view account balances, and manage payment methods. Guest users are able to set up an auto reload to add value on a regular basis.

What if I lose my Care Card?

As soon as you realize that your Care Card is missing, call 617-632-3199 so the account associated with the card can be deactivated. You can also suspend the card by logging into your account online – but you will not be able to reactivate the card if you find it again. You can get a new Care Card at Friends’ Place. Your new account can be linked to the previously existing account.

What is my Account Number?

Your 6-digit Care Card number is located on the front of your Care Card.

What is my Card Number?

The 16-digit Card Number is unique to each card. It allows us to link a card to your account. It is located on the front of your card.

When is value added to the Care Card account available?

Funds transferred by debit/credit and cash are available instantly. Check deposits are available on the business day received.

Where can I use the Care Card?

The Care Card is accepted at the Friends' Corner Gift ShopFriends’ Place, the Lavine Family Dining Pavilion, the Zakim Center, and the Yawkey Center Parking Garage. You can also use the Care Card to pay for parking at the garage exit booth, and the cashier booth on Dana 1. Look for signage indicating that a location accepts the Care Card.

How do I make a purchase with the Care Card?

At all accepting locations, the Care Card works like a debit or credit card. Just present your Care Card for payment to the attendant at the register. Your card will be swiped in a terminal and the transaction authorized. You will need to sign a printed receipt of the approved transaction.

What if I forget my username or password?

Go to your Care Card Account Center. Under the login button, click “Forgot your username or password?” and follow the instructions.

Is the Care Card Account Management Center a secure site?

Yes, it is secured via 128-Bit SSL Encryption, so you can manage your account with confidence.
