What our patients say about Dana-Farber

Lindsey's story*
I was diagnosed with a rare form of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2007 at age 25; just months after getting married. I underwent initial CHOP chemotherapy at Dana-Farber under the care of Dr. Freedman, who was wonderful. When my cancer was resistant, I was
introduced to my stem cell transplant doctor, Dr. Armand. My transplant coordinator called just before Christmas to tell me they had found a perfect stem cell match. I underwent an allogeneic stem cell transplant on February 7, 2008 — my new re-birthday.
The amazing nurses who cared for me both at Dana-Farber and the Brigham inspired me. Once I was cleared to go back out in public (1 year), I began taking courses. It has been a long, difficult road, but in May 2012 I graduated cum laude from an accelerated
nursing program at Mass College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. I'm currently a full-time student working on my Master's degree in nursing. I never would have found my passion in life had I not gone through everything I did. The doctors and nurses
at Dana-Farber are like family — I wouldn't be where I am without them! Thank you, Dana-Farber!
