Helen Lin was born in Taiwan but grew up mostly in Los Angeles with her family. She graduated from Sophia University in Tokyo and speaks four languages fluently. She moved to Boston recently with her three children.

Helen became involved with Dana-Farber in honor of her mother, who passed away from lymphoma in 2017. Helen spent three months in the ICU with her mother and witnessed first-hand the challenges that patients fighting cancer face, and the incredible amount of support patients need from their families. When she learned about the Friends of Dana-Farber from another Board member, she knew right away that this organization was where she wanted to dedicate her time. Her first event with the Friends was in 2019, when she joined Dinner with Friends as an Investigator Sponsor. Helen has supported the Friends as the Vice-President of Membership, and now Co-President.

Helen believes that the greatest thing in life is to be able to help others and make a difference in the world. She is committed to improving outcomes for patients through the Friends' mission to raise funds in support of research and provide services that enhance the Institute's healing environment. When she is not enjoying time with her children or working with the Friends, Helen enjoys traveling, cooking, yoga, and horseback riding.
