Micki Hirsch's warmth and vitality are qualities that you desire
in a friend and what the Friends want in a Board member. She
learned about Dana-Farber from her childhood friend, Board member
Suzanne Bloomberg. They co-chaired the auction at the 25th
Anniversary Gala.
For the past four years, Micki chaired the Saks event, Key to
the Cure. Always one who readily assumes responsibility, she has
served on the committees for the Pops evening, Friends' cookbook
and P.A.R.T., as well as helping in the Friends' Gift Shop. She was
vice president of fundraising for two years and has served on the
Nominating Committee for the last two years.
She is on the Executive Board of The Boston Chapter of The
National Museum of Women in The Arts. Micki and her husband Steven
have three children. Despite her many activities, she finds time
for gardening at their Cape house in the summer, cooking, reading,
golfing and traveling, especially snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef
in Australia.
Micki says, "Volunteering at Dana-Farber is so enriching and
rewarding. I am always so impressed by the doctors that I meet and
all the workers and volunteers who do so much at this terrific
Institute. It is wonderful to work with such a diverse group of
people who all want to make a difference. I feel honored to be a
part of The Friends' Board."
