Join us in celebrating Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund's first Giving Day on May 27. For more than 70 years, the Jimmy Fund has supported Dana-Farber in its pursuit of a world without cancer — and, it all began with a national radio broadcast.

In May 1948, millions heard Dr. Sidney Farber's young patient Einar Gustafson, also known as "Jimmy," visit with his heroes from the Boston Braves baseball team. Radio listeners were moved by Jimmy's story and sent contributions to help buy him a television for his hospital room so he could watch the Braves play. This act of kindness launched a movement that continues to bring hope to thousands of children and adults living with cancer from around the globe.

Mark your calendars for May 27 and help Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund continue its tradition of advancing cancer care and research for years to come.
