For Providers Referring Patients to the Liver Cancer Center

A patient's primary care physician or community specialist is an integral part of the patient's care team. We are committed to working with you in the long-term care of your patient with liver cancer.

When to Refer a Patient

If your patient has hepatitis B, hepatitis C, or cirrhosis, they are at risk of developing primary liver cancer. Alcohol or tobacco use and inherited or rare disorders that damage the liver (such as hereditary hemochromatosis, alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, and glycogen storage disease) are also risk factors.
