Dana-Farber appoints Partridge as director of adult survivorship program

Posted date

Ann Partridge, MD, MPH, has been named the director of the Adult Survivorship Program and the Lance Armstrong Foundation Clinic at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Partridge is an accomplished clinician-researcher who is nationally recognized for her contributions to the fields of breast cancer in young women and cancer survivorship. She has been the clinical director of the Susan F. Smith Center for Women's Cancers Breast Oncology Program at Dana-Farber since 2008.

Partridge founded, and will continue to serve as the director of, Dana-Farber's Program for Young Women with Breast Cancer, which addresses the unique needs of women in their early 40s and younger. In 2010, she was appointed chair of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Advisory Committee on Breast Cancer in Young Women, a federal advisory committee established by the Affordable Care Act.

"We are very pleased that Ann is taking on this important leadership role, and we are certain that she will take our survivorship care and research to new heights," said Lawrence N. Shulman, MD, Dana-Farber's chief medical officer and senior vice president of medical affairs. "Under her guidance, our adult survivorship program will continue to develop new and innovative ways to care for cancer survivors and improve their quality of life."

Recognized widely as a pioneer in cancer survivorship care and research, Dana-Farber's Adult Survivorship Program is one of eight centers in the United States that are part of the LIVESTRONG Survivorship Center of Excellence Network. Through Dana-Farber's Lance Armstrong Foundation Clinic, it offers a range of programs across several disciplines dealing with the late effects of cancer treatment, with specific focus on cardiology, nephrology, bone health, and sexuality. It also provides cancer survivors with educational programs, support services, and informational resources.

"I am excited about the tremendous opportunity to build on the work that has been done to date at Dana-Farber and to collaborate with colleagues across disease centers and disciplines to develop new initiatives to optimize survivorship care and research," said Partridge.

In addition to offering adult survivorship services on its Longwood Campus, Dana-Farber provides survivorship care at Dana-Farber's satellites at Milford Regional Medical Center, in Milford, Mass.; South Shore Hospital, in South Weymouth, Mass.; and Dana-Farber/New Hampshire Oncology-Hematology, in Londonderry, NH.
