New site unites other Dana-Farber community locations, expanding cancer and blood disorder care and outpatient services for adult patients in the region

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is opening a new location at 5 Branch Street in Methuen, MA, to offer cancer and blood disorder care and outpatient services to adult patients in Merrimack Valley.  Dana-Farber will lease approximately half of the building and convert the third floor into a new outpatient hospital facility (about 30,000 square feet).

This new facility unites Dana-Farber’s current physician practice sites in Lawrence and Methuen into one hospital outpatient location.  The site will have exam rooms and infusion bays as well as clinical trials and expanded patient support services including genetic counseling, social work, and nutrition.

“Providing cancer care in locations that are convenient for our patients is integral to our mission,” said Craig A. Bunnell, MD, MPH, MBA, Chief Medical Officer, Dana-Farber. “With this new location, Merrimack Valley residents will have expanded access to the renowned care of Dana-Farber oncologists and caregivers.”

Renovation design is underway. The new site in Methuen is expected to open in early 2020.
