Shae Fitzpatrick, Assistant General Counsel at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, has been named to the Boston Bar Association’s 2023 Public Interest Leadership Program class. The prestigious program is comprised of a diverse group of talented, motivated attorneys who have graduated law school within the last ten years and have demonstrated a commitment to pro bono and public service.

Each year, the Boston Bar Association’s Public Interest Leadership Program chooses a select group of lawyers to participate in a year-long program to provide intensive leadership and professional development training. Participants learn from and connect with leaders in Boston’s public and private sectors to gain the critical skills and tools needed to grow as effective leaders and voices in the community. After completing the 12-month program, graduates enter a growing network of over 200 accomplished alumni who provide mentoring and support to their successors.

Fitzpatrick has a broad corporate healthcare practice with a focus on charitable and tax-exempt matters. Prior to joining Dana-Farber, she spent five years practicing at Ropes & Gray as a transactional attorney within the life sciences group. In addition, Fitzpatrick maintained an active pro bono practice in which she served on the leadership team of Ropes & Gray’s medical-legal partnership program in a role focused on assisting Dana-Farber patients with their legal needs. Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, she served as a law clerk for Chief Justice Paul A. Suttell of the Rhode Island Supreme Court. Fitzpatrick earned a bachelor’s degree from Brown University and a Juris Doctor degree from Boston College Law School.

The Boston Bar Association is the Commonwealth’s premier legal institution, bringing together the brightest and most influential people to lead at the forefront of the profession. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of excellence for the legal profession, facilitate access to justice, foster a diverse and inclusive professional community, and serve the community at large.
