Four New Members Elected to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Board of Trustees

At a recent meeting of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Board of Trustees, four new trustees—Peter DeFeo, Wyc Grousbeck, Tom O’Rourke, and Emilia Fazzalari—were elected to serve three-year terms.

Peter DeFeo, Natick, MA, and Edgartown, MA, is the co-founder of VetCor, a leading veterinary services organization, where he served for many years as Chief Legal Officer and Chief Development Officer. In these roles, he played a central role in building and scaling the organization through strategic acquisitions, strong governance, and long-term institutional stewardship, helping guide its evolution into a nationally recognized veterinary services platform. DeFeo currently serves VetCor in an emeritus and advisory capacity.

In his late wife Dara Frigoletto’s memory, DeFeo established an ovarian cancer research fund at Dana-Farber, supporting innovative research and advancing understanding and treatment of the disease. DeFeo serves as a board member of The Children’s Trust, Lawrence Academy, and the Vineyard Preservation Trust, and is a member of the Business Advisory Council of the Environmental League of Massachusetts.

DeFeo received his BA from Tufts University and his JD from Harvard Law School.

Emilia Fazzalari, Boston, MA, and New York, NY, is the Co-Founder of Cincoro Tequila, a luxury spirits brand launched in 2019 and distributed across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Fazzalari began her career at Moody’s Investor Service and spent more than two decades at Bloomberg L.P. She later served as Head of Commodity Consulting & Analytics and Head of Marketing at Poten & Partners.

Fazzalari serves as a Co-Trustee of the Giving | Grousbeck Fazzalari Foundation and sits on the boards of Boston Children’s Hospital, New York-Presbyterian Hospital, and Reform Alliance. She is also a member of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital President’s Advisory Council, a founding member of the Global Alliance of The Earthshot Prize, and a co-creator of the NBC sitcom “Extended Family.”

Fazzalari holds a BA from the University of Michigan.

Wyc Grousbeck, Boston, MA, and New York, NY, is a two-time NBA champion, experienced investor, CEO, and founder. He began his career as a venture capital investor before leading the acquisition of the Celtics, in 2002. The team went on to win historic 17th and 18th championships, in 2008 and 2024.

In 2013, Grousbeck co-founded Causeway Partners, which has raised three venture growth funds totaling over $400 million and has invested in several sports-related businesses, including SeatGeek and the PGA Tour. Together with his wife, Emilia Fazzalari, Grousbeck co-founded Cincoro Tequila, along with Jeanie Buss (owner, LA Lakers), Wes Edens (owner, Milwaukee Bucks), and Michael Jordan (NBA icon). Grousbeck and Fazzalari serve as the Trustees of Giving | Grousbeck Fazzalari, a charitable foundation that supports several important initiatives in healthcare, education, and justice.

Grousbeck is a graduate of Princeton University, University of Michigan Law School, and Stanford Business School.

Tom O’Rourke, Waban, MA, is a Partner at BayPine, a private equity firm focused on helping businesses achieve their full potential through digital transformation. He serves as Head of Healthcare, overseeing investments across healthcare services, life sciences, and tech-enabled healthcare businesses.

Prior to joining BayPine, O’Rourke spent more than a decade at Bain Capital, where he invested across the Healthcare and Consumer & Business Services sectors within the North American Private Equity team. He began his career at Goldman Sachs as an analyst in the Private Equity Group.

O’Rourke currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Mavis Tire, Penn Foster, and CenExel, a leading clinical trial site network supporting the development of innovative therapies. He also serves on the Board of Brooke Charter School, where he is Treasurer.

O’Rourke received an AB from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
