Support Groups

Virtual Young Adult Drop-in Support Group

This group is open to young adults (ages 18 - early 40s) diagnosed with cancer or a blood disorder. The group is held twice per month on the first Monday and the third Wednesday from 5:30-7 p.m. ET on Zoom.

Virtual Young Adult Peer Program

This program is open to Dana-Farber young adult patients aged 18 - early 40s on active treatment. There are six 75-minute Zoom sessions over six weeks. Each session focuses on topics pertinent to the young adult cancer experience (examples listed below) with additional time to share with your peers. A brief introductory Zoom meeting with the clinician who facilitates the program before the start of the group is required. Topics include:

  • Changes and disruptions
  • Living with uncertainty
  • Relationships
  • Communication
  • Making meaning

Virtual Young Adult Post-Treatment Program

The Post-Oncology Survivorship Talks (POST) group is open to young adult patients (ages 18 - early 40s) who have completed treatment or are no longer in treatment at Dana-Farber. There will be six 75-minute Zoom sessions over six weeks. Each session will have 30 minutes of educational material and 45 minutes of discussion. 

Some examples of topics for the sessions will be:

  • Living with long-term treatment side effects
  • Fear of recurrence & living with uncertainty
  • Sexual health, dating, and relationships
  • Returning to work or school

Virtual Young Adult Caregiver Peer Program

If you are a partner / spouse of a young adult with cancer, check out the Virtual Young Adult Caregiver Peer Program. The program is open to partners / spouses who are caregivers or support persons of young adult patients (~ages 18-50) receiving care at Dana-Farber. The YAP will contact you when the next round of this group is announced.

Parents of Young Adults with Cancer: Peer-Support Program

If you are a parent caring for a young adult with cancer, check out the Parents of Young Adults with Cancer: Peer-Support Program. The program is open to parents who are caregivers or support persons of young adult patients (~ages 18- early 40s) receiving care at Dana-Farber. The YAP will contact you when the next round of the group is announced.

Virtual Caregiver Program for Parents of Young Adult Patients Interest Form

General Caregiver Support Group at Dana-Farber (not within the Young Adult Program)

This is a virtual, drop-in support group offered via Zoom for those caring for a loved one (not young adult-specific) with cancer. The group is offered twice monthly on the first Thursday of the month from 12 p.m.-1 p.m., and the third Tuesday of the month from 6-7 p.m.
