How to Link Your MyChart Patient Portal Accounts
If you receive care at both Dana-Farber and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, you may have a MyChart patient portal account with each organization. You can link these accounts to get a streamlined view of your care across organizations.
- Dana-Farber uses Patient Gateway
- Beth Israel uses MyBILH Chart

Before You Start
You need a MyChart username and password for each organization. If you don’t have one, request an activation code from your care team or use the “Sign Up” option on that organization’s MyChart patient portal.
Keep your login details for each organization handy. They may be different.
To Link Your MyChart Accounts
You only need to do this once.
- Log in to Patient Gateway or MyBILH Chart.
- Open “Your Menu” (three horizontal lines in the upper left) and select “Link My Accounts” under “Sharing.”
- This opens a list of local organizations. You can also search by name, city, or state. Select any organizations you want to connect with, then select “Link My Accounts.”
- Sign in to the other organization when prompted. You may be asked security questions or to verify your identity. If you’re unable to complete verification, contact that organization’s support for assistance.
MyChart: Switching Between Dana-Farber and Beth Israel
After you link your MyChart accounts, you can switch between organizations to view appointments and messages in both Patient Gateway and myBILH Chart.
To switch between organizations:
- Log in to Patient Gateway or MyBILH Chart.
- Open “Your Menu” (three horizontal lines in the upper left) and scroll down to “Link My Accounts” (under “Sharing”).
- Choose Mass General Brigham Patient Gateway (Dana-Farber) or Beth Israel Lahey Clinic (myBILH Chart) to view that organization’s information.
Tips for Using MyChart Across Organizations
- Pay attention to your view: Some information (like medications and test results) may appear in a combined view.
To send messages, see appointments, or pay bills, switch to the organization where that care occurs.
- Appointment details: Always check the organization, location, and instructions listed with each appointment. If anything looks unclear, call your care team.
- Notifications: You may receive notifications from both organizations. Adjust your preferences under Settings.
- Default organization: You can choose which organization opens first in MyChart under Settings or Linked Accounts.
- Messaging: For urgent medical issues or any questions that need a fast answer, do not use MyChart. Instead, call your care team. In a medical emergency, call 911.
Your care teams at Dana-Farber and Beth Israel work closely together – coordinating your care and securely sharing relevant health information – so your experience is seamless.
